why i do what I do.....

I am now Fashion Director at Glamour magazine but following on from the success of my weekly column in the Sunday Times Style magazine I thought I would bring this page to life every week and also give you the chance to comment. This page is not for me to dictate what you should be wearing but to offer ideas on how to put wearable outfits together. Its not what you wear it's how you wear it!

The Jacket.....

The jacket has been seen in many different guises this winter and below are some of my favourites like the bomber, the military and the biker but all have been worn in very different ways!  This week WIN the metallic bomber jacket from the second outfit (a style seen through spring/ summer too) just tell me how you would wear it by leaving a comment below or tweet me @nataliehartley deadline closes in a week....good luck!

TIP...update the biker jacket look with colour if you go for an animal print like this match the red in the jacket with burgundy and a pillar box red roll neck worn under gives it a cool modern edge, why not try half turns ups instead of the usual rolled hem

TIP...update a party dress with a sporty inspired jacket but the metallic print means this dresses it up add metallic brogues for an alternative to heels but still feels like you have made an effort!

TIP...I have kept this look dark and added a white shirt under a knitted top with the buttons done up it all adds to a structured look that suits this type of jacket, jeans give it a more relaxed vibe but keep them black as both dark navy and black work really well together...try it!

  1. A leather pencil skirt, pointed toe heels, minaudiere clutch (maybe something oriental style to match the fabric of the jacket) and red lip all to set balance to the masculine shape of the bomber for a sporty yet feminine look.

    Lovely styling!

  2. I'd wear the jacket with black silk harem trousers, white tee, a cream silk oriental jacket underneath the jacket for layering, silver pointed brogues and contrast the print of the jacket with my Alexander McQueen De Manta floral clutch.
